Encompass offers two kinds of care under one roof. Whichever fits, you'll work directly with Natalie — the panel is intentionally small, so there's time to truly know you.
Primary care is your ongoing medical home. Functional medicine is an optional deeper layer when your symptoms, goals, or history call for more investigation.
Some patients begin with Primary Care Membership and later add functional medicine when deeper investigation becomes appropriate. Others come specifically for functional medicine and transition into Primary Care Membership for long-term continuity.
There is no single right starting point. Natalie will recommend the pathway that best fits your goals, symptoms, and where you are in your health journey.
Begin with either. Primary care and functional medicine are complementary — many patients use both.

An optional deeper layer
Functional Medicine Programs
Functional medicine looks beyond isolated symptoms to understand how hormones, metabolism, gut health, inflammation, nutrition, sleep, and lifestyle work together.
Rather than simply matching a treatment to a symptom, we look for patterns and ask why those symptoms developed in the first place. At Encompass, functional medicine is grounded in evidence and integrated with conventional primary care.
It's best suited for patients with persistent symptoms, complex or overlapping concerns, or anyone seeking a deeper, root-cause understanding of their health. Because this work takes time and continuity, it's offered as structured programs rather than one-off visits.
Functional medicine care is provided within structured programs only — not as standalone visits. This ensures the process has enough depth and continuity to actually work. Primary Care Members receive $150 off any functional medicine program.
Compare the three programs
You can begin with any of them — Root Cause Review isn't required first.
Not sure whether Reset or Rebuild is right for you? Many patients begin with Reset. If additional time, deeper investigation, or ongoing support is needed, you can continue into Rebuild without starting over. We'll reassess your progress together and determine the best next step.

Root Cause Review fee credited at enrollment
How insurance-integrated pricing works. Eligible medical office visits and conventional labs are billed through insurance when clinically appropriate. The program fee covers the functional medicine services insurance typically doesn't reimburse — advanced interpretation, nutrition and supplement planning, secure messaging, education, care coordination, and ongoing protocol refinement. Coverage varies by plan; patients remain responsible for applicable deductibles, copays, coinsurance, and non-covered labs.

Common questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Getting started
Do I need to join primary care before starting functional medicine?
No. Patients may begin with Primary Care Membership, Root Cause Review, Reset, or Rebuild depending on their needs. Primary care provides ongoing medical continuity, while functional medicine programs provide deeper investigation and implementation.
Can I begin directly with Reset or Rebuild?
Yes. Many patients who are ready for structured implementation begin directly with a program — particularly those who have already tried multiple approaches and are looking for a more guided, sequential process.
How do I know which pathway is right for me?
If you're looking for clarity and a starting point, begin with a Root Cause Review. If you're ready for structured implementation and ongoing support, Reset or Rebuild are the best fit. If you're unsure, reach out and we'll help guide you.
Testing & insurance
Do you take insurance?
Insurance is used for standard medical care — visits for acute concerns, medication management, and basic labs. Functional testing, extended visits, and structured programs are offered outside of insurance by design, which allows for more time, deeper interpretation, and ongoing support without the constraints of traditional visit structures.
How do labs work?
Labs are used strategically, not automatically. Basic labs may be recommended as part of your initial evaluation and completed through insurance or self-pay. Advanced functional testing is introduced when deeper insight is warranted, and is offered within Reset or Rebuild as clinically appropriate. For any testing we recommend, you'll have clear cost expectations before anything is ordered.
What is the difference between Root Cause Review and the longer programs?
Root Cause Review provides clarity and direction — it identifies patterns and outlines a starting point. Reset and Rebuild provide the structure to act on that: follow-up, protocol refinement, accountability, and adjustments over time. Insight creates direction; ongoing structure creates change.
During & after care
How long before I see results?
Every system heals at a different pace. Some patients notice early improvements in energy, sleep, or digestion within weeks. Hormonal, metabolic, or inflammatory shifts may take several months of consistent implementation. Sustainable change is prioritized over rapid but short-lived improvements.
What if I have an acute issue during a program?
Enrolled patients can schedule acute or sick visits as needed. These are offered at a program rate and may be billed through insurance when appropriate, so you stay supported without interrupting your overall care plan.
Do you prescribe medications if needed?
Yes. Natalie is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner trained in conventional primary care and integrative medicine. When appropriate, medications are incorporated alongside lifestyle, nutrition, and supplement strategies.
What happens after a program ends?
Many patients transition into the Primary Care Membership for ongoing guidance, prevention, and accountability — continued clinical access, priority scheduling, and the ongoing relationship that allows care to stay responsive as your health evolves.
